Dr. Nick Manocchio

Dr. Leslie Scalafini Patrick

Dr. Nick Manocchio

Born and raised in Montreal, Canada on July 20th 1970 from Italian parents who emigrated from Italy in 1969, Dr. Nick Manocchio, speaks fluent Italian and French and was a dental school graduate of Montreal University in June 1993. Six months later he opened his first dental practice and quickly became very successful.

In 1995, Dr. Nick began extensive travels to the US for seminars to increase his knowledge of root canals, orthodontics, and dental surgery, and subsequently fell in love with America. So, in 1998, he took his Board and Clinical exams in Louisville, Kentucky, after which he applied for the American Green Card. In December of 1998, Dr. Nick received the wonderful news that it had been granted, and he began the process of selling his home and practice in Montreal.

He arrived in Warsaw, Indiana on December 24, 1999, and worked 1-1/2 years in South Withley in a one dentist office. After visiting Marietta, Georgia in 2001, Dr. Nick knew exactly where he wanted to settle and began working for Dr. Bill Hansmann in East Cobb County. His ultimate dream was to repeat his original success in Montreal by opening his own practice, and that dream became a reality in October 2002 at his present location in Roswell Georgia. The practice has become very successful primarily due to his talented skills and chairside manner, from which a large majority of new patients come from current patient referrals.

Living in the US made it much easier for Dr. Nick to sign up for even more advanced courses which lead to his purchase of the Cerec 3D technology in 2004, which allows for same day crown and prep delivery. In 2005, he took a 10 month class on dental implants, and in 2006 was certified for Intra-Venous Conscious Sedation to help patients with dental phobias, wisdom teeth extractions, or for those who want extensive treatments done in one appointment.

On April 30th, 2008 Dr. Nick Manacchio was required to appear for his interview and ceremony to receive his American Citizenship! He did so with pride, joy, and gratitude.

Dr. Nick has three beautiful children, Nicya 13, Andrew 10, and Delia 8, who are all tri-lingual, and wonderfully accomplished, terrific kids.

Dr. Leslie Sclafini Patrick

In April 2009, Today's Dentist was pleased to welcome Dr. Leslie Sclafini to our practice. Dr. Leslie Sclafini is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and as a result of Hurricane Katrina; she relocated to the Atlanta area to be closer to family. She attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge for her undergraduate degree where she received a B.S. in Zoology with a minor in Chemistry. She then headed back home to New Orleans for her dental training at LSU School of Dentistry where she graduated in 2005. While growing up in New Orleans Dr. Sclafini went to a female dentist whom she admired greatly; she frequently shadowed her during her time there. She attributes this as one of the reasons she chose to go into the dental field.

Dr. Sclafini currently resides in Smyrna, Georgia with her husband Dr. Alex Patrick. She and Dr. Patrick met after she arrived in Georgia and were married in September 2009. Together they enjoy traveling and spending time with family and friends. They also love to frequent the many diverse restaurants we have here in the metro Atlanta area.

Dr. Sclafini also spends much of her time on service oriented projects. While still in dental school she traveled on a mission trip to Mexico assisting in providing dental services to impoverished areas. She is a member of The Junior League of Atlanta which is "an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable." Their mission is something that Dr. Sclafini cares deeply about. Her first year with Jr. League she worked with the Mary Hall Freedom House, whose mission is to "improve the quality of life of women and women with children by empowering them to break the cycle of addiction, poverty and homelessness." She is currently involved with the Atlanta Alliance on Developmental Disabilities. She also works with the Special Olympics thru Special Smiles Ltd., performing dental screenings. Her many civic involvements are a great way to combine her love of community with her profession. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Northern District Dental Society, the Georgia Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Sclafini joins our practice with experience in Louisiana and the metro Atlanta area. She brings an expert hand to her dentistry, while still being gentle, calm and patient. She likes to spend time getting to know her patients and feels their concerns and comfort are paramount to the excellent dental care she provides.
